Always Something New or Different

Every season I'm always doing something different to our home. I'm either rearranging furniture,

adding new decorative elements, or maybe even a new paint color.

The trick with this place is I am very limited on

rearranging furniture.

But I was able rearrange our living room furniture.

Better TV viewing and I feel a better flow as well.

So now I'm re-doing the decorative elements,

you know, where to hang the pictures now and how to arrange the wall art.

I want to hang our TV but before do that I want to make something that will hide it.

Since I don't a television an attractive wall art, that big black rectangular thing.

I saw a great one on Pinterest, I love that site!!

What a great idea. I can either sew a pretty fabric or find a Tapestry piece to hang up.

 

And I saw this beautiful antique buffet on savvy southern style

 

What a beautiful piece, I love the scalloped details and the wire on the doors.

 

We have our TV sitting on an antique buffet as well

 

Can't see it too well but we bought this at a great price years ago and it has such pretty details but I can't bring myself to painting it. Maybe one day I will.

So as soon as I am done with the decorating I will post pictures of our new living room set up. This is the old set up you see above.

 

 

 

 



Redecorating

 

We've been here now over a year, where does time go? I can't believe how busy it's been since we moved here.

Still doing projects, probably will be until the end of the year, and that's inside the house.

We still have our backyard to do yet, but the work that it needs will require a lot of time and money, so that'll be next spring most likely.

On the inside though, I was able to do my seasonal changes.

I love to change out curtains, pillows and bedding according to season.

For the Spring/Summer I chose to go with, blue's, tans, and some orange touches

Bought some fabric and made new curtains

 

Some new pillows from TJ Maxx and Marshall's, love those stores!

 

 

I don't know why it is when you take a picture and things look different through the lens?

Those pictures on the wall look lost, but in person they look fine. Don't like how it looks here, oh well.

 

I thought I would have to change out the pictures but it's amazing when I added the blue from the curtains, all of a sudden I could see the blue in the pictures.

Less money to spend, that was fine with me

 

Changed out the curtains here as well and the table cloth, lightens up the space for the summer, although I saw some fabric that I just love and I'm thinking of purchasing it and making curtains out of them for the dining room

The sheers above have embroidered flowers so it's not a plain white curtain.

Just little changes to the space makes a difference.

 

 

 



French Country Curtains

For a long time I have been eyeing this fabric by Waverly and now I want it.

I hate to spend the money on it, sew it up, hang it up and then our home sells.

Will I be able to use it in the next place?

Should I get extra just in case?

I don't know what to do, but I know I've always wanted this fabric and it would go so well in my living room.

It has the French Country color and style that I just love.

Decisions, decisions!

Sofa Rejuvenation

OK, so we're back to this again!

I know, I know, trying to figure out what to do.

I've been trying to sell this set for awhile and had a buyer but she wanted so little for it, that I had to laugh, to myself, when she gave me her Best Offer.

So until I find a buyer for it, I am ready for a change and I was looking at some blogs and came across this beautiful site

Bella Inspirations

Laurie who is incredibly talented did a remarkable thing with a friends sofa.

It went from this

she makes amazing things with burlap fabric and look how beautiful it turned out.

She has inspired me to do this, but oh my, what a project I would have,

I not only have a love seat to do but a large deep seated couch.

I guess I would have to consider the price it would be to buy all that fabric, thread and time to make it to see if it would be worth it.

How pretty it would look though,

hmmm!

French Country Design

For some years now I've had a passion for French Country decorating!

It started with the purchase of our living room

furniture.

Green and sage small print gingham with cranberry red

plaid throw pillows.
(the plaid pillows have worn out so I need to replace them)

It started my whole love of French Country Decor.

Now, I'm trying to decide what curtains to make for our living room.

In fact, I've outgrown some of my decor and am ready

for a fresh look.
I still love the greens, reds, yellows all the colors of French Decor,
but I want different fabrics. I saw this look and I just love it

I'm so drawn to those colors, reds, black gingham and toile.

I thought maybe I would change it up completely and go with

blues, grays and taupe's

but I fear as my mom said

I would get bored of it quickly,

plus, it would mean spending too much money to do a

complete remodel.

I like those colors above, but there's not punch of color.

So will I get bored,

She may be right.

This is my living room now

With Fall/Winter around the corner I will be changing the curtains.

I'm also ready for a new area rug,

what do you think?

I will be rearranging the furniture to face our gas fireplace

as well.

Of course, our house is on the market, one more month

so before I do anything major,

it will be small changes until we see what happens with the

sell of our home.

In the meantime, I will search French country Decor on google

and see what inspirations I find!
